Inox Spectral-Coloré

Inox Spectral-Coloré

Spectral-coloured finishes (gold, bronze, champagne, black, blue and anthracite grey) offer a lively colour that can vary according to angle, light and direction of installation. The coloured layer is obtained using an electrochemical process that allows the chromium oxide layer on the metal’s surface to grow. The colour itself happens when light interferes with this layer, similar to the iridescence phenomena seen on the surface of a soap bubble.

Generally speaking, coloured and uncoloured stainless steel share the same properties, meaning the colour does not alter the surface appearance whether brushed, mirrored, grained or etched. It also means that bending and even slight deep drawing can be carried out without damage. The colouring offers excellent resistance to ageing and the chrome protects it from ultraviolet rays.

This finish is available on austenitic grades 304/304L and 316L. The choice of grade depends on the type of environment it will be used in.

Grade: 304 (1.4301), 304L (1.4307) & 316L (1.4404) (Please use the table to check a grade’s compatibility with specific environmental conditions)
