Stainless steel: the material of choice

Through the Uginox brand, Aperam offers a number of innovative stainless steel solutions, each adapted to the unique expectations of our customers and in-line with the latest in environmental sustainability.

Aperam’s wide range of surface aspects enhances a project’s aesthetics to give them a unique identity. Whether matte, shiny, polished, textured, brushed or even coloured, stainless steel is commonly used on facades, roofs and interior decor, but also for structures and bridges.

This durable, easy-to-maintain and 100% recyclable material provides a competitive overall cost.

Completely and infinitely recyclable, stainless steel is the “green material” par excellence. In fact, within the construction sector, its actual recovery rate is close to 100%. Stainless steel is also environmentally neutral and inert, and its longevity ensures it meets the needs of sustainable construction. Furthermore, it does not leach compounds that could modify its composition when in contact with elements like water.

Thanks to these qualities, stainless steel is ideally suited to such building and construction applications as roofs, facades, rainwater recovery systems, swimming pools, vehicle and pedestrian bridges and even interior decor.

Let us help you choose, implement and maintain the right stainless steel solution for your building and construction needs.

Service

Our commercial network of 16 service centres and agencies across Europe ensures support is never far away.

Aesthetics

With a wide range of surface appearances, stainless steel brings an element of creativity to architectural design.

Durable

Stainless steel is a durable material that maintains its appearance and requires very little maintenance.

Economics

Thanks to a long lifespan and low maintenance requirements, stainless steel offers a low ratio between the final cost and the lifecycle of the structure.

Environment

By providing the world's "greenest stainless steel", we are at the forefront of sustainability.

Properties

Durable, corrosion-resistant, and very good mechanical resistance.

Applications

Roofing and accessories

A low coefficient dilation makes stainless steel the material of choice for roofs and roofing accessories.

Façade

Stainless steel is suitable for all installation techniques, including cassettes, winks, contoured and ribbed bins and standing joints.

Interior decoration

Ceiling slabs, host banks, and elevators – with stainless steel, the sky’s the limit.

Sculpture

Stainless steel allows for creative freedom and guarantees the sustainability of a design – even when placed outdoors.

Swimming pool

Thanks to its superb hygienic properties, stainless steel is the material of choice for contemporary swimming pools.

Structure

Stainless steel’s high mechanical properties help lighten profiles and beams.

Our Products

To suit all architectural styles, Aperam offers a complete range of surface aspects. These range from matte to shiny, each of which can be achieved on different shades of stainless steel. Note, one should distinguish between the shade and the surface appearance of the stainless steel:

  • The shade is characterized by its chemical composition, which directly affects the stainless steel’s corrosion resistance and mechanical properties.
  • Surface aspects are the result of the mechanical or physical-chemical treatment of the surface. The same look can be achieved for different shades of stainless steel.
